There Is No Time. South Korea Is Shaking
South Korea has already entered negative growth. The economy is retreating. The population is declining. As the number of students drops sharply, schools close, and with fewer people, industries come to a halt. Ultimately, money stops circulating. Without money, social welfare systems cannot be maintained.
Imagine the near future. Traffic lights on the streets won’t be fixed when they break. Public facilities won’t be properly maintained. This is not a story about the distant future.
Roundabouts Could Be South Korea’s Future
Once, when I traveled abroad, I saw roundabouts everywhere instead of traffic lights. It was strange at first, but then I realized roundabouts don’t need traffic lights. They require no installation, operation, repair costs, or electricity bills. When money is tight, even traffic lights become a luxury.
Seeing this, I thought: if South Korea runs out of money and people, this is what will happen. In fact, South Korea only developed a modern urban system since the 2000s. Going backward could happen much faster than we expect.
The Smartphone Market Reveals the Crisis
To feel the crisis, just look at the global smartphone market share. Except for the top two, all major players are Chinese companies. Even Samsung is running at a loss. If companies can’t pay taxes, the central government and local authorities where factories operate will also suffer.
South Korea’s economy is export-driven. When exports falter, domestic consumption collapses too. If giants like Samsung and Hyundai shake, the countless small and medium businesses and partners relying on them will collapse as well. Signs of this are already everywhere.
Overwhelming Efficiency Is Necessary to Survive
For South Korea to survive, it needs the ability to create extreme productivity and high added value that no other country can match. It’s not just about working hard, but about finding ways to work with maximum efficiency. Put down your smartphone. Study. Think deeply. Dote Timer is one of the tools to help with this. I hope every citizen will use it to maximize Korea’s productivity. There is no time to waste.
